چکیده

B-Reps (Boundary Representations) represent geometric objects defined as stratified point sets. This paper extends boundary representations of non-manifold geometric objects to n-dimensional stratified objects possibly having incomplete boundaries. The proposed representation has given rise to a new geometric kernel called DiX (Data in Xtratus), having been derived from a mathematical model based on the subanalytic geometry and theory of stratifications. It may meet applications in computer aided design and manufacture, computer axial tomography, virtual reality, computer animation, etc. Key–Words: I.3.5: Computational Geometry and Object Modeling: Curve, surface, solid, and object representations; Boundary representations.

Inverse Identification of Circular Cavity in a 2D Object via Boundary Temperature Measurements Using Artificial Neural Network

In geometric inverse problems, it is assumed that some parts of domain boundaries are not accessible and geometric shape and dimensions of these parts cannot be measured directly. The aim of inverse geometry problems is to approximate the unknown boundary shape by conducting some experimental measurements on accessible surfaces. In the present paper, the artificial neural network is used to sol...

Warped product and quasi-Einstein metrics

Warped products provide a rich class of physically significant geometric objects. Warped product construction is an important method to produce a new metric with a base manifold and a fibre. We construct compact base manifolds with a positive scalar curvature which do not admit any non-trivial quasi-Einstein warped product, and non compact complete base manifolds which do not admit any non-triv...

Non-Manifold Boundary Representation for Solid Modelling

The focus of current researches in geometric modelling is the extension of the representational power in order to encompass the non-manifold objects. In the present paper a non-manifold boundary representation is proposed. New types of topological elements are introduced to extend the dimension of the non-manifold condition at a face. This structure is based on the theory of simplicial complexe...

Non-manifold Multi-tessellation: From Meshes to Iconic Representations of Objects

This paper describes preliminary research work aimed at obtaining a multi-level iconic representation of 3D objects from geometric meshes. A single-level iconic model describes an object through parts of different dimensions connected to form a hypergraph. The multi-level iconic model, called Non-manifold Multi-Tessellation, incorporates decompositions of an object into parts at different level...

Boolean Operations on Non-manifold and B-rep Solids for Mesh Generation

In a solid modeler, one of the most powerful tools to create three-dimensional objects with any level of geometric complexity is the application of Boolean set operations. They constitute intuitive and popular ways of combining solids, based on operations applied to sets. The main types of Boolean operations commonly applied to solids are: union, intersection and difference. In order to assure ...
